Sue is trying to control the schools and leagues when they are not involved. This is a deal between sports obsessed individuals, organizations and companies and individuals. The NFL doesn’t get involved in Tom Brady’s Hertz commercials. They get involved with his contract with them. Mizzou doesn’t have a contract with Burden, for example. Some Mizzou friendly chip company does.
Even if Mizzou and the SEC had contracts and a salary cap, none of that would or should limit a player from getting even more money from sports obsessed boosters, etc. So MU is still going to be behind most of the SEC as long as they have said boosters, etc., hell bent on spending to win. Heck, even in the pros a lot of dudes would rather be in LA and NY for the increased chances of endorsement money.
