AHHH but you don't get it Most people don't give two cents about any university outside of the joy they get from sports.

Most myself included only feel any loyalty and allegiance to the university's because of their sports programs.

On principle I agree that most student athletes in football and basketball don't even belong within 10 miles of a college campus. And that Education and Research is is paramount compared to Athletics.

But Being practical I realize that Athletics Trumps education and research. It's the ultimate Marketing and bonding experience of any college.

If you don't have that then the General masses won't have any interest in funding something that they don't have any connection to.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
