Keep in mind, "endorsement deals" will be nothing more than pay-for-play agreements between players and boosters. I'll copy-and-paste the example from my OP:
UT booster: "Pick UT and you'll get a $100K 'endorsement deal' after signing day."
5* recruit: "Thanks but an A&M fan is offering me $150K to endorse his car dealership."
UT booster: "Okay, give me 48 hours, I'll see what I can do..."
That's what recruiting will become if players can receive endorsement deals.
Furthermore, less heralded (i.e. mid/low 4-star) recruits would be naturally inclined to pick schools with the largest fan bases & in the top media markets, since those schools would offer the best endorsement deal potential.
Mizzou, with its average fan base, average media markets, and average donors/boosters, would have virtually no chance of landing top 250 (football) or top 50 (basketball) recruits.
Let me put it this way: It would become significantly harder to persuade those recruits to come to Missouri, and it's already really difficult as we all know.
Our chances of competing for national or even just conference titles would go from slim to zero.
