School districts are absolutely a business

People confuse what happens in the classroom with a teacher in front of students with actually running the district. Running the district is an administrative function that would best be done by business principles. Teaching students needs to be done by teachers with training in education. That is a specialized skill. But that is only a part of what it takes to run what is often the biggest business in town, the biggest food service place in town, and the biggest transportation system in town.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
