You might be a wonderful teacher with the best interests of your students in mind. However, you can't deny your profession is filled with failures. The evidence is the performance of our public school systems. Our six children attended a small 1A school with less than 200 students K-12 in Northwest Missouri. Five Valedictorians and one Salutatorian. All attended Mizzou, all but one graduated with honors and two have advanced degrees. I know enough about education and don't need a social science degree.
Regarding economics, my middle son has his masters in Econ (from Mizzou) and he is employed with the worlds largest firm in it's industry. His job title starts with Senior Global. He received this promotion before he was 30. There probably aren't more than a dozen people in the world who could do what he does and he gets rewarded big time for it. Several times more than the Dept. head at Mizzou. If I have an economic question, I'll take it to him.
