People mistakenly think teachers unions are about bettering

education. Teachers unions are about teacher pay and working conditions and sadly politics.

Does the UAW focus on making better cars? Why would we expect teachers unions to be focused on education?

Dont get me wrong I have taught for 30+ years and despise teachers unions, I think they should be abolished. People expecting teachers unions to help solve problems with education simply dint understand the purpose of the unions.
