of the guys that go into coaching were players. They had tutors and help with tests throughout school. They aren't especially inteliigent.

If you measured most coaches against everyday people you wouldn't find more than a few that scored in the top 1% of IQ, SAT, ,ACT or whatever test you want to let them study for and take. Most aren't probably the best problem solvers or inventive. So a guy link Drink has a great advantage there.
