That wasn’t a guarantee.

Then they got hurt and Mizzou didn’t even get the benefit of having them come back. It was worth the risk.

That still didn’t change the way coaches thought of the Mizzou job at the time.

Look at a lot of the coaching hires this offseason. Duke, North Carolina and others are hiring guys with 0 HC experience.
