Calories are a good barometer for losing weight, but I focus also on trying to limit the amount of carbs I intake. When I want to drop weight, then I cut carbs / sugars. More than likely your body is gaining muscle and retaining water. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat. Try cutting your carbs and sugars this week and I bet you'll lose 5 lbs.
