The rhetoric is tired. Simply trying to sugarcoat your insecurities. You know SLU isn't beneath Mizzou, but you have to maintain that image. Carry on.
SLU doesn't need Mizzou to become relevant. They need to win. They need to get into the Big East or separate themselves above their conference mates akin to Gonzaga or Wichita State (which was only four years or less, in the latter case). If not for the ineptitude of Jim Crews after the departure of players Rick Majerus had brought in, SLU might be in that boat.
I've already said that I don't want the game to happen, since I like both schools, but this notion that Mizzou is too mighty to play a road game at SLU or Missouri State except to dole out welfare is delusional: circling the wagons.
