Why take a road game against a mediocre opponent if you're trying to make the dance every year?
Take it against a better team, like the series we had with Gonzaga, or the couple times we played Georgetown and Syracuse. Play an old Big 12 opponent if you're going on the road.
If those teams want a game, sure, we'll give 'em a game at Mizzou Arena.
It's not that there's a prospect of losing on the road to a SLU or an SMSU that's the issue. The issue is, you get little to no credit if you win.
NCAA committee would look at a road win at any of the other teams I mentioned, or a Wichita State, and give it credence.
NCAA committee gives jack squat about at large teams that win at SLU or SMSU. There's no benefit to Mizzou to play those games on the road, even if the Tigers do win all of em.
