media speculated on a logical spot for Porter to go AFTER Romar's firing. that same media had MU joining the big 10 and hiring matt painter.

all parties involved have said that Martin approached Porter about the MU job AFTER receiving the HC job himself and AFTER Romar was fired. not the other way around.
