contact potential assistant coaches before accepting the job to figure out how hard the rebuild is going to be. He acts as if Cuonzo contacting Porter about the possibility of coming to Columbia, a city he had spent the previous six years in, is just outlandish. And it's not outlandish to think that Porter deciding to take the job would set off a chain reaction that would end up with Romar losing his job.
