And who's going to assign the "divisions"? Humans or human-programmed computers?

The CFP is fine as it is. Add two to four more teams if you like, but coaches in the room are much more likely to pick the "right" teams per protocol the Sagarin or anyone else.

The CFP is designed to bring in more teams and more fan interest, along with the TV money. Why don't you let the cake bake and see what the brackets become? The Committee will get it right, save for a seeding or two. This playoff is good for fans and TV, look at all the games that matter now, the controversies, et al.
