i.e., for dealing with SEC "conference cannibalization"...
(1) Giving the SEC 6 automatic bids.
(2) Switching to computer models for ranking & selection.
(3) Decreasing the number of conference games from 8 to 6.
(4) The SEC breaking away from the CFP entirely (as you suggested in the OP).
The fact is, there is no CFP without the SEC's participation. It has more powerhouse brands than all the other conferences combined. As such, Sankey will have leverage to negotiate a *fair deal*. And if the other conferences won't budge, then the SEC will go with option #4 as a last resort.
