Thousands of cases of abuse by clergy because they pretend sexuality isn't a basic need.
I view religion as a primary tool for controlling people and seldom having anything to do with spirit. Who are the modern day Pharisees whose lives are the exact opposite of the fruit of the spirit? You can find them populating our churches. As Christians, the will of those in power becomes the focus instead of the will of God. You can call that human weakness while also acknowledging those in positions of power perpetuate this disconnection from spirit because it maintains their own power.
