Christianity doesn't teach that, nor, I assume, does Liberty University.
The actual Christian doctrine is that sexual activity outside of a valid marriage is a sin.
That teaching, of course, comes from Our Lord Himself.
"I realized religion has next to nothing to do with spirituality or Christ's love."
The only way one could come to that conclusion would be to reject the Sacred Scriptures and Church that Jesus founded. Of course if you do that, how in the world would you have any clue about what constitutes "Christ's love"?
