has the popularity, unlike all the kc bbq restaurants that have been around forever, to go national & be able to label what the STL region has to offer, namely some hints of a STL regional submarket - KC.

If you notice, they include Memphis, which is legit, authentic & stand on it’s own as a city as well as Texas, a whole state. You think Abilene, TX is bent out of shape that Dallas, Austin or Houston define Texas BBQ nationally?

I think not! They are grateful like KC should be for being carried on the shoulders of their big city enablers.

With STL defining the modern era with many more highly ranked & popular BBQ restaurants over the last 15+ years. It only makes sense that STL now is the standard bearer &, therefore, takes the lead, which they done in countrywide polls, etc, nationally for Missouri BBQ.

So call it why you will - STL BBQ or STL/KC BBQ - more people everyday around the country are having that embedded & taught to them at popular Sugarfire franchises throughout the country increasingly.

Good for Missouri & STL, oops, I mean Missouri BBQ.
