continue fighting a losing battle, now that NIL is clearly going to happen?

Of course not. That would crush their athletic programs.

The NCAA fought NIL tooth & nail, but they see the writing on the wall as well.

The state legislatures in SEC states passed NIL legislation, while simultaneously issuing public statements expressing their opposition to it. They said they had no choice but to pass the bills, or their schools would be at a competitive disadvantage.

This is why the federal government needs to intervene, and eventually I think there will be pressure to do so... it will take a few years for the naive & gullible fools who currently support the NIL movement to realize how problematic it is for college sports.
