Thomas asked.
Gorsuch made this point a major part of his argument against the NCAA in his opinion, writing that at the heart of its claims to promoting amateur sports is a business that rewards executives but not workers.
That's not the intent of amateurism at all. Its main purpose is to preserve parity and competitiveness. With that said, I agree that the NCAA should impose salary caps on coaching staffs. It's absurd that (college) coaches are making multi-million $ salaries... in some cases 8-figure salaries!
