Though we as a nation have put that notion to rest, the damage done by it was considerable and lingers substantially to this day. It is the finding of this court that remedy, and perhaps irony, can be found in the individual's right to market and receive remuneration as a form of reparation. Thus, the Atlanta auction-block shall henceforth be reinstated, with all players desiring to offer service in the form of intercollegiate athletic performance sold to the highest bidder. This ruling orders directly the National Collegiate Athletic Association to so reassemble and reorganize, such that the auction of potential collegiate athletes may proceed in an orderly fashion.'
Speaking colloquially to reporters, Roberts quipped 'this generation of American youth seems fixated on selling themselves, with this ruling, we let them do just that.'
