How could you prevent rich boosters from setting up sham endorsement deals? e.g. $100k to endorse a car dealership. They could claim it's a legitimate endorsement deal based on the size of the dealership and the market it's in. It would be impossible to prove otherwise.
And royalties from jersey/merchandise sales would be substantially higher for players at schools like Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc...
Player income would need to be capped (e.g. $10k max per player) or pooled and evenly distributed.
Anything else would corrupt and ruin the game by falling below a threshold of parity and competitive balance.
