He gave Harris a ton of playing time for a long stretch in December and he refused to listen to the coaching that he was receiving.
Supposedly Blake wanted to stick around because he liked it here but his parents didn't like the fact that Cuonzo was strict with him. Ultimately Blake's parents made a quick decision after only getting 11 minutes against South Carolina. A game in which Geist played extremely well.
I do not think we could have made the tournament with Harris playing 20 minutes per game last year and making the tournament was extremely important for the program.More importantly, Cuonzo needed to establish his culture last year and Harris was not a good fit for the culture.
It's too bad he wasn't a fit but culture is absolutely critical.
Quin's downfall was not that he couldn't find a good PG. It was that he was an immature coach who failed to establish an effective culture around the program. The culture was toxic and it consumed him.
