worst season was 18 wins (first year at Cal). His next worst season was 19 wins (first year at Tennessee). So essentially, you're predicting that Cuonzo will have his worst season in a decade if he misses on Ramey, which seems unlikely.
Consider who we're losing and gaining:
losing (3-4 players):
• Jontay, who was mediocre most of the season.
• Kassius, a transfer from Canisius that Cuonzo was able to coach up.
• Barnett, who finally played some defense and showed some energy thanks to Cuonzo.
• CVL (probably), who was a major liability on both ends of the floor.
gaining (6 players):
• KJ Santos
• Mitchell Smith
• Torrence Watson
• Blake Hinson (in OP's scenario)
• Xavier Pinson
• Javon Pickett
The 6 players we're gaining could certainly replace the minutes and production of the 3-4 players we're losing. Plus, our returning players will be stronger and more experienced.
