were interesting. Not too hard to read between the lines.
He says: "I think maybe the thing I like the most about these 4 girls (Baumgartner, Baxter, Conrad, Norman) is that every single one of them competes. There are no excuses, they enjoy being out there. They are low maintenance, they're just blue collar kids. Win, lose or draw I can deal with that."
If I didn't know better I'd think he was subtly implying that he's had recent experience with high maintenance pitchers who would sometimes make excuses, didn't always enjoy being out on the mound, and didn't always compete hard.
Or maybe it's just me.
He was a little more direct when asked if he expected to lose both Finucane and Lowary around the same time. His response: "Yeah I had that feeling, everybody kind of had that feeling that they were looking for a different situation. All I can say is I couldn't be more excited about the girls who are here, and things happen for a reason. But so far I really like the vibe of this team, we're all pulling the rope in the same direction, and man there's a lot to be said for that."
Good answer.
