I don't know why my post got edited by the mod and then 30 minutes later it was deleted completely? I didn't know factual evidence about parking passes was a political topic...? Let me change one sentence and see if it's appropriate now...?
We've had season tickets for 30+ years and have used all of them this year so far. However, we ain't happy with TSF.
We got our parking pass "taken away" because we followed the directions in the renewal letter. It said to log in at 9am (like for single game tickets), so we did. At that time, no parking spaces were left. When we called to inquire, they said that other people sent their info in early and were given spots. They said they could put us in a parking garage across campus. When we asked why we were penalized for following directions, they said we "should've known" to call in early if we wanted a parking spot. "Sorry, tough luck."
Parking at games has always been a ridiculous mess but being slapped in the face during a difficult time in the program's history won't improve the relationship between fans and the program. I've been in that parking garage before for hours waiting to leave. They literally let every "ground level" spot leave before the parking garages are unblocked. One night, my parents left ground level and pulled into their driveway near Springfield before I was even able to back out my space. I am not joking or exaggerating - we were on the phone. Even the radio announcers said Saturday "this game is going to last 4 hours. You can't expect KC and StL alumni to make a commitment to a night game that will get them home at 2-3am." If you want to build a fan base outside COMO, you have to figure out how to be reasonable and loyal.
There's too much money being invested by donors to say they aren't loyal fans whenever they are treated poorly. That's not sour grapes; that's business. Capitalism says I can spend a whole lot less on a big HDTV and not sit in a parking garage for (literally) hours.
