situation, or the hope/desire currently, to get out of the situation they're in. these kids didn't pick to be poor. and when all they see is a **** life, they don't see a hope to get out.

of course, i'm not for giving 1/2 of my salary for it, but that's an extreme that nobody is suggesting.
