currently contracts in NIL. I know the difference between NIL and pay-for-play and if you think players aren't getting pay for play, then you are naive.
An NIL contract can basically be written to ensure the athlete is in school. They can stipulate certain time frames (semester, year, etc).
You do realize that NIL deals aren't forever right?
Quinn Ewars was paid by Ohio State his freshman season only. Why? Because of a contract that ended when he left for Texas.
These NIL contracts are 3rd party, not associated to the school. That contract could very easily stipulate that a player will only be paid while living in Columbia or wherever.
I guarantee you that the people funding NIL are not continuing to pay an athlete that has transferred or no longer representing the school they were being "paid" to.
Missouri's NIL collective is not still paying Aidan Shaw since he transferred to Boston College.
