The reason you conduct searches and pay big money is to attract the kind of leaders who can do what’s best for the organization when faced with difficult circumstances. The way they handled it damaged the school badly among its biggest supporters, mostly in-state. Since Denton and Alden left, it’s been a parade of mediocre leaders. Outside the state, it’s been long forgotten.
