Program should not need someone to tell him to lay off the coke and not bang his players girlfriends.

A few years back my school hired a kid right out of college too be the head coach. Myself and one of the other olds coaches spent a great deal of time mentoring him. Things like how to talk to parents, how to manage timeouts, how to file the ton of paperwork that is required. Not once did it occur to us to tell him to keep his hands off the female students.
