modest yet essential remaining parity that allows schools like ours to compete for meaningful things from time to time (especially when combined with the new transfer free-agency rules).
As I've said before, the fact that the playing field is currently uneven is why it's even more imperative to protect the parity that still exists. Without it, the game will cross a threshold in which teams like ours will have no realistic chance of ever competing for anything meaningful, and fans will consequently lose interest and tune out. And that will lead to the demise of college sports, barring major policy changes to reverse the damage.
