What I'd like to see is expenses minus conference travel

If Mizzou is part of the SEC then we're stuck with higher travel expenses than everyone in the conference save aTm.
The question I have is how are the other funds being spent? Places I'd look at cutting
Sorry softball, no more air travel to open the season in California. You can bus to the Gulf Coast/Texas for season opening tourneys. Same goes for baseball and going out to Arizona, you can ride a bus to Houston or Dallas. Midweek games in both should be bus travel distance.
IIRC women's hoops is a huge money loser, is Pingeton providing return on the investment? Should her assistant pool be reduced?
Rumor on the college wrestling front is the Big 12 is taking Mizzou back as a wrestling only member, which is great as long as making trips to Cal Baptist isn't expected.
The bigger question I have - is it time for conferences covering all sports to go away. Football and men's hoops can make geographically spread conferences work. There's demand for the product (TV money) but for the other sports not so much. Should the other sports be in conferences that make geographic sense?
