Why do you think older people pay more than younger people for health insurance? Because they are a higher risk with some variety of pre-existing conditions.

It COSTS more per year for their medical needs than a typical younger person. That is reflected in their premiums... even in a Group Policy.

I pay substantially more than the 25 year olds where I work.
