the fence certainly runs from the coast to Nuevo Laredo and beyond for a total of 795 miles and yes the Big Bend area was originally not to be included, but I'm not sure if that is true today. They did build fence from El Paso east, but not sure of how far-at least to Big Bend wilderness area. BTW, Matamoros is not the town south of McAllen-that would be Nuevo Progreso. On manpower, if we had put the money it cost to build the fence towards technology and manpower like the Border Patrol wanted there would be no need for the fence
