it was covered by his company health insurance. He did it as a preemptive measure before he got even older.
He had to go from doctor to doctor before he found one that would do it for someone with healthy tonsils. He found a doctor willing to do so, however.
He said that it was worse than he expected and he may have regretted doing it.
I see now that studies are showing that both tonsils and appendices are a part of one's immune system. Previously the health community felt that they were unnecessary left overs from the Darwinian evolutionary process.
