because they have hoarded the talent for years. All of the kids attending SEC schools didn't come from Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi - they're bought from all over the nation. Same with the B1G - the OSU, Iowa, Wisconsin rosters have had key players from STL for years.

Now, you have an environment where some schools with a rich booster or two can try to soothe their ego and make their team relevant. Think of the illegal basketball booster at Miami (he could do that legally now) or the group that put together enough money to make SMU decent. Talent will get distributed more widely based on who is willing to pay the most to win.

The SEC's motto was always - it just means more. Now, it'll become - we just pay more.
