last night after the OSU/Texas game? It was interesting to see the panel (Finebaum, Tebow, Roman Harper) discussing that the portal is, in some way, negatively impacting the SEC. They referenced three Alabama guys who had transferred to OSU. Almost hilarious in my mind. Not having an SEC team in the finals two years in a row is really tough on the conference's ego.
Overall, I love the portal, I think it could be a great equalizer and gives kids a chance, who were stuck in bad situations. That said, agree, there has to be rules. Maybe no more than two transfers (without a hardship waiver) and there has to be NIL caps per player (did you see the report that Beck is getting $4M next year?). I also think the player pay cap coming out of the House ruling is just way too high at $21M for most teams (and still doesn't limit NIL, it only further defines it).
Agree, it's a mess, more importantly, who is going to fix it?? I think it has to be driven by Sankey and Petitti, and I just don't see that happening.
