Les Miles era at LSU. Up to that point I was what many would consider a die hard. I was a season ticket holder from 1978-2012. I still attended games up to 2017. I made on average 10 games a year including post season games.
There is a lot that goes in to that decision. Constant travel to games, expense of travel, hotels, entertainment and every thing associated with that.
It was a slow tipping point. More expense but less enjoyment.
Then I came to the slow realization that the game of college football that I love has changed and not for the better.
It isn't about support for your university. It is about money. LSU could care less if I attended games as long as they got the money.
That realization is a bit self deflating, but there it is.
Like many things now a days what used to be unifying and fun is less fun and divisive.
I don't want, need or covet that in my life.
Besides big screen TV, air conditioning and access to all of the games has changed the need for me to attend games.
