where you lose interest because of the disparity in college football?
I'm already at the point where my interest goes not much further than MU, and if the program's in the tank I have a lot of free time in the fall. Honestly, I wouldn't even mind if a "Super League" of the usual 7-10 suspects formed where they play a round-robin each year and beat each other's brains out. Maybe every 2-3 years have a relegation/promotion of 2-3 teams.
Sure, it's fun to see MU on the same field as UGA, Bama, etc., but only for about five minutes. Yes, upsets can happen and you have to beat the best to be the best and all that, but the way things are going with the top players going to the same handful of schools more and more, it's less and less likely to happen.
I wouldn't care if they broke the whole damn thing up. Conferences, everything. I'm glad MU landed in the SEC, but it's very unlikely they'll win the conference. Call it a "loser mentality" if you want, but I'm 50 and they haven't won a conference title in my lifetime. If that causes the sport to fall apart, then so be it. Maybe that's what's needed to allow actual reform.
Edit: I'd gladly eat crow.
