Most on here go no further back than Norm. Since her was here forever and was the turning point in Mizzou BB that seems like a fair starting point.

Or if you want to use the NCAA tourney as a measuring stick then going back to the 70's when that started taking at-large teams sounds like a good point.

Those are not as arbitrary as you paint them to be.
