only reached the Sweet 16 twice since then. Their highest NCAA tournament seed was a 4.
In other words, you have to go back *6 decades* to an ancient era of college basketball to find a time when Cal was relevant. Their high admissions standards have made it virtually impossible to compete in recent decades.
