I will add that I don’t know that MU can be a big winner in football with its football recruiting base being largely devoid of 4+ star types. Being a 7/8 win program, on average, is pretty much maxing out what MU can be, on average, and that’s with scheduling lightly in the noncon. MU needs hoops to become a thing. It’s the easiest path to producing a program that can win something to create fans at MU.
MU needs to....
Keep the off field nonsense to a minimum and at least produce some players that fans connect with. Hope that you can produce a 10 win team once and awhile (once or twice a decade would be nice.) avoid long stretches of being a bottom feeder.
Get MU hoops to be a deal.
To me, this is the best case scenario for MU sports. It will MU create fans. Bemoan bandwagon fans all you want but they produce revenue and more exciting venues for you “diehards”.
