Mizzou produced the fan base it has. I’ll guarantee if Mizzou ever won anything of significance once and awhile it would be a better fanbase. Schools that win something once and awhile are filled with bandwagon fans. Do ku fans suck when they sell out a basketball arena of 18,000 all the time but get a similar crowd for football? There are a handful of schools that will draw more with a similar lack of winning. But they are few. Couple in all the crap that MU produces to go along with being a school that hasn’t won a conference championship in the Big 2 sports since 1969 and 1994 and you get a Mizzou fanbase. Alabama football and ku hoops aren’t filling up with diehards. They have tons of bandwagon fans that live associating with a big winner. Big winner and Mizzou have barely existed but when they have been more special, attendance goes up. It’s that simple. MU football’s will have a nice bowl year but it isn’t likely to be anymore special than countless school’s bowl years. If somebody wants MU to be like ku hoops or Nub football, win 10+ conf titles, throw in some F4s and even some titles or produce 30 years of awesome results like Nub did from the 70s to the 90s. Then ***** about MU fans in comparison. Until then MU gets the fans it has created by its history.
