therein lies the problem with your position. You're trying to argue what some people that died >100 years ago, were THINKING, rather than what they actually settled on.
People that are born in the US and not subject to our laws are birth children of foreign diplomats....when the 14th Amendment was ratified, some sought to include children of native Americans in this class.
Would the founding fathers sought to have excluded the newborns of immigrants setting foot on US soil for England, Ireland or Scotland, in 1868?
Different times, and if the 14th Amendment is to be addressed/challenged, it needs to be via the legislative body - not the executive.
