I was against Kim's hire, but once hired, I'd hoped he'd have proved me wrong by making incremental gains each year, even if we hadn't gotten back to the tournament yet. If he'd made steady progress, he'd still be the head coach.
My honest opinion is that Underwood will be a good game coach with smart teams. If he gets talent, watch out. CM is a great recruiter and very good defensive coach. Can he coach his team to a high level of success? Maybe. I think Missouri is his best opportunity to date to show that he can. He'll get everything he needs to be successful here. If he untangles his game management, he could be the guy who takes us to the very top.
I'm used to Missouri being the place that hires the Brad Underwoods and Illinois getting a guy like CM. Right now, I'm glad it's the other way around. We'll see if it stays that way.
