Illini fans say CM wasn't offered the job. I suspect differently, but nobody has any proof, and there are lots of reasons why a particular guy does or doesn't get a job at any single point in time. We should have hired Bill Self instead of Quin. If the rumors are true, we gave CM a half mill more a year and a longer contract term than the Illini offered-thanks SEC.

My original point was that expectations are high there, and they are. Their fans think they should be winning or challenging for the Big 10 every year and going deep into the tournament most years, irrational or not. That informs their expectations of performance regarding their head coach.
