I would have honored US & NATO promises to Russia when they gave free rein to the USSR vassel states to become independent nations... to refrain from expanding NATO eastward.

That would have prevented the war completely.

Now please answer mine.

If you were in charge of foreign policy right now & commander-in-chief of our military, what would be your strategy?

No discussions with Russia?
