subpar Kelly's calls are, but you have to understand that THE CALL of big plays become those big plays over time.

You can either crown great achievement with calls you listen to over and over, or you can't because the calls are so bad.

When a person has the true excitement of the total homer combined with a detailed description of the event, you have the makings of a great call.

It matters.

But it's really not that tough, be ridiculously excited when your team does well, be ridiculously disappointed when it doesn't.

And if you want to prove to all the announcers in the business that you can maintain a Joe Buck 'professional' monotone throughout, well, go work for some national crew covering different teams every game.
