salary cap for players? They are not paid by a single entity. The whole NIL concept is that they are free to negotiate with anyone to sell their brand - not unlike how NFL players make money beyond their salary cap.

The genie is definitely out of the bottle and it's not going to be stuffed back in. I had modest to little interest in college football before so it's not going to impact what I do. But basketball is a different story for me. I love the game but already I am sick of Mizzou presenting an almost entirely different roster every season. It's not much fun when you cannot watch the same players for multiple years (and that only is partially due to NIL).
