Under capitalism, freely functioning markets determine the price and supply of commodities, including the services of college football coaches. If consumers didn't value the services of coaches so highly, coaching salaries would not be so high and there would not be so many highly paid coaches. Consumers of college football may well be "over valuing" coaching services, but its a consumer decision. It's the way the capitalist system works and that economic system produces more goods and services more efficiently than any other economic system, including "managed" economies.
